About New Safe Haven COGIC in Garland, TX

The New Safe Haven Church of God in Christ, Inc. (COGIC) is a Pentecostal Christian organization. COGIC is the largest Pentecostal denomination in the United States. The membership is predominately African American, with over six million members worldwide.

As members of the Church of God In Christ, our local assembly is in good standing at all three levels of the church. We are active participants in our District and Jurisdictional churches and support the National Church’s endeavors.

At the moment, due to COVID-19, there are no regular outreach programs. However, if someone is in need, we will reach out with whatever support is required.

All other food programs, shelter programs, women’s programs, etc., are paused until further notice.

Meet Our Pastor

Pastor John Malone, an Ambassador for Christ

Pastor Malone is delighted with his life in Christ and how the Lord is directing him as a servant leader of God’s people. He is the founding pastor of New Safe Haven COGIC in Garland, TX. He founded the New Safe Haven Ministry in January 2000 with a clear vision from God to reach the community at large with community-based outreach initiatives.

In addition to serving faithfully at New Safe Haven, Pastor Malone also serves as the Area Coordinator for the Greenville North District Usher Department under Superintendent A.V. McCrary’s leadership. He is also President of the Texas Northeast Jurisdictional Usher Department and Chaplain for the COGIC International Usher Department. Pastor Malone is a godly man, given to compassionate care for God’s people and a servant that God has blessed with innumerable testimonies to be an effective witness and Ambassador for Christ.

Pastor is married to First Lady Carolyn Malone, and they are the proud parents of seven children and ten grandchildren.

Meet Our First Lady

Mrs. Carolyn A. Malone

Missionary Carolyn A. Malone, a long-time native of Garland, TX, is an astounding woman of God. Her attitude towards people speaks volumes of her love for God. She is the wife of Elder John J. Malone Jr., Pastor of New Safe Haven Church of God in Christ Outreach Ministry (NSH) in Garland, TX.

As a missionary of the Gospel, Mrs. Malone has a down-to-earth, “lived it” type of message. Her attitude is, “If you don’t stand for something, you’ll fall for anything.” Mssy. Malone has been a positive influence on many young women from all walks of life. Attributes of our first lady include her caring and selfless attitude. She is a resourceful woman, always willing to help others.

Mssy. Malone and Pastor Malone are the parents of seven adult children and ten grandchildren. First Lady Malone serves as Director for the Youth Department, Choir, and The Women’s Department of New Safe Haven COGIC.

Missionary Malone received her Missionary/Evangelist license from NTime Institute in 2001. She is VP of the Minister’s and Elder’s Wives Unit for TXNE 1st Greenwood north and she served as Financial Secretary and Special Programs Coordinator for Greenville North district. She enjoys watching HGTV, baking, and reading when she is not busy.
